Eurovision Daily Press Poll 2016 Summary: “Will my country qualify?”

by Gil Laufer 7,356 views0

The question that have been asked frequently in connection to ESCToday’s Daily Press Poll is Will my country qualify?. After watching the first rehearsals of all semifinalists and getting the input from the poll, we can get a better look at the possible outcome of the semifinals.

NOTE: The ranks are based on the current rehearsal showcase and does not consider voting patterns, running order or any other parameters. Please refer to our live reports if you would like to understand more about each country:

Day 1 | Day 2 | Day 3 | Day 4

The countries will be divided into four categories in each semifinal (order within the categories does matter):

  • Sailing (S): Countries which presented a rehearsal that is already strong enough to be declared as clear qualifiers, mostly winners and runner-ups of the poll
  • Rising (R): Countries which presented an almost finalised performance during the rehearsals that stands out in perfection in more than one element (vocals, camera work, choreography etc) and are expected to have an improved performance in order to ensure qualification, mostly third to fifth places of the poll
  • Fighting (F): Countries which presented a rehearsal that without significant improvements during the upcoming rehearsals will hardly make it to the final or not qualify at all.
  • Leaving (L): Countries which will probably not make it to the final based on the rehearsal, in addition to the previous predictions regarding the overall entry
