The 2009 Icelandic Eurovision representative Yohanna aka Jóhanna Guðrún has released a new song today, titled Undir Stjörnubjörtum Himni. It is the Icelandic version of the 1993 Danish Eurovision entry Under stjernerne på himlen.

Yohanna has released Undir Stjörnubjörtum Himni, a song by the late Tommy Seebach ( Denmark 1979, 1981, 1993). She has made her own cover version of Tommy Seebach’s 1993 Eurovision contribution.

Jóhanna Guðrún represented Iceland at the 2009 Eurovision Song Contest in Moscow with her entry Is it true? She achieved an honorable 2nd placing in the Grand Final.

Iceland debuted at the Eurovision Song Contest in 1986 and is yet to win the event. The country achieved its highest placing in the competition in 1999 with Selma (2nd) and in 2009 with Jóhanna Guðrún ( 2nd)

Pity that the danish entry that Johanna covered
finished just 22nd out of the 25 with earning just 9 points in the EuroVision of 1993..
