Night 5 of Depi Evratesil takes place this evening in Armenia with the continuation of stage 2 of the national selection.

Following last week’s show, in which we saw 6 acts move forward to the next stage of the selection, this week sees stage 2 of the competition continue where a further set of artists will compete for a place on one of the 6 judge’s team.

How to watch

Show 5 of Depi Evratesil will air from 22:15 local (20:15 CEST) on the following channels:

Tonight’s show

As with last week’s show, tonight will see the second night in which artists will perform for a place in the next stage of the competition.

Artists will perform on-stage for a second time to the 6-member jury panel who will then decide within the last 10 seconds of the performance whether they want that singer on their team in the forthcoming rounds.

Each jury member, consisting of members Hayko (2007), Inga (2009 & 2015) & Anush (2009), Aram MP3 (2014), Essaï Altounian (2015) and Iveta Mukuchyan (2016), can select up to a total of 4 artists to compete as part of their team.

National selection format

Depi Evratesil will run throughout the next 3 months and will consist of 4 different stages, with the Armenian representative being determined in December. The winner of the national selection will be selected via a combined SMS vote and jury deliberation.

Although the artist will be decided in December, it is currently unknown how the Armenian song entry for the competition will be selected. More details are expected in the coming months.

AMPTV has decided to opt for a national selection in order to select Armenia’s act for the 2017 Eurovision Song Contest, the last time being in 2013. The nation has received successful results over the years since their Eurovision debut in 2006, placing in the top 10 of the Grand Final a total of 7 times to date.
