Switzerland: New name, outfit and video for Heilsarmee!

Heilsarmee, who were selected to represent Switzerland in the 2013 Eurovision Song Contest, have now changed their name and outfits in compliance with the EBU rules which forbid the promotion of any kind of organization through the contest.

The band will now compete under the name Takasa, an East African Swahili word which means clean. Salvation Army explains:  The new name sounds mysterious and embodies vitality. The name stands for pure listening pleasure and also incorporates “a meaning close to the spirituality”.

The trademark Salvation army outfits also had to go according to the EBU directives and now Takasa will perform in plain white shirts and dark trousers.

SRF have also released the official video for You and me and you can watch below

Thanks to Johnny Logan and Hold me now I fell in love with the Eurovision Song Contest, a love that's been going strong ever since with undiminished passion. My first memories date back to 1977 and the lyrics of Rock bottom, Dschinghis Khan and A ba ni bi are still engraved in my brain. I joined esctoday.com in 2006 as a junior editor after being invited by Barry Viniker, I soon became Senior Editor and during the 2007 contest in Helsinki I was appointed Head of Communications. Today I hold the post of Head of Human Resources and I am proud to be working with the best editorial team in the world.
