The United Kingdom chose an extensive way of selecting their first Eurovision Song Contest entrant since the year before, they submitted their entries too late. The UK selection included three semi finals and one grand final. Only the winning song titles of the semi finals are still known, but the names of the competing singers are still available.
The top 2 songs of each semi final - chosen by 11 regional juries - would move forward to the final, but the singers would not obligatorily be the same.
The way it goes and Seven were the two winning songs out of the seven competing; they were also the first two songs performed that evening.
