Biography
One year after his first participation in the Eurovision Song Contest with Ring-A-Ding Girl, Ronnie Carroll (born 1934 in Belfast) returned to the Eurovision stage with the song Say Wonderful Things. Like the year before Ronnie ended in the 4th position. But there was one big difference. Where Ring-A-Ding Girl didn't go on to reach an equally high chart position Say Wonderful Things did: it stalled at 6 in the UK charts. Being his second best charting single it also effectively ended Ronnie's chart success. That didn't stop Ronnie from trying however. And with success, as he had a TV show of his own in the mid-60's called Carroll Calling. Besides that he starred in the musical Promises, Promises. He then quit the music and opened a night club in Grenada. The 70's saw Ronnie writing his first children's book I And The Bottomless Boat, followed by several others. At the end of the 90's Ronnie was involved in politics.
