Biography
Paola del Medico (born 05/10/50 in Sankt Gallen) started her career in 1964 and after winning some other song contests she entered into the 1968 Swiss final for the Eurovision Song Contest. Although she didn't get through (Gianni Mascolo entered into the 1968 contest), it did help her to get a record deal. Her first single was Er Kam Mit Einem Roten Rosenstrauß. She would however have to wait another year for her first hit, the German Stille Wasser, Die Sind Tief. It would also be the year in which she entered into the Eurovision Song Contest for the very first time, a feat she would repeat in 1980 with Cinéma. Paola also competed in the German national finals in 1979 (Vogel der Nacht) and 1982 (Peter Pan).
