Biography
Ricchi e Poveri consisted of Angela Brambatti, Franco Gatti, Marina Occhiena and Angelo Sotgiu. Although already very popular in the 70's in Italy, it would take until the 80's for Ricchi e Poveri to conquer the European charts. Songs like M'Innamoro Di Te and Mamma Maria were big hits for the group, mainly in the German speaking countries. But although Ricchi e Poveri were no name in the English speaking countries, some of their songs were covered in English by British groups. Sara Perché Ti Amo for example became I Got The Fire In Me in the hands of British band Guys 'n' Dolls (A Song For Europe 1979 with How Do You Mend A Broken Heart).
