Biography
Ofra Haza is from Yemenite origins. Ofra was already a popular singer in Israel, before she was chosen to represent her country in 1983's Eurovision Song Contest. It's not however her entry into the Eurovision Song Contest that made her popular all over Europe. For that big success she had to wait until 1988, when a remix of the Yemenite song Im Nin' Alu hit the charts all over Europe. Hits like Shaday and Love Song followed. Ofra didn't forget the Eurovision Song Contest however and contributed to the 1992 Kdam song Ha'Or for Uri Fainman.
Avi Toledano was Israel's participant in last year's Eurovision Song Contest with Hora. This year he provides music to Hi.
Ehud Manor provided the lyrics for the 1979 Eurovision Song Contest winner Ah-Bah-Neeh-Beeh by Izhar Cohen & the Alphabeta.
