Biography
Timna Brauer was born in Vienna in 1961. After graduation at the French Lyceum in Vienna she had dance and piano lessons and studied singing at the Akademie für Musik und Darstellende Kunst in Vienna, and musicology at the Sorbonne in Paris. In the years 1983-85 she gave numerous concerts in Vienna, Salzburg, Frankfurt and Bonn with her father, Arik Brauer, and with Ernst Fuchs and Moondog in Vienna, and she had auditions with Elisabeth Schwarzkopf and Elisabeth Grümmer.
She has arranged and produced an LP of her father's "Poesie mit Krallen", and has had several film and record tasks with the avant-garde big band "Pandemonium" with which she toured Israel. She received an award for vocal solo at the 9th Paris Jazz Festival, and has played the part of the cabaret singer in Frank Cassenti's motion picture "The Last WilI of a Murdered Jewish Poet".
Peter Cornelius was born on January 29th, 1951 in Vienna. Now he is living in Vienna and also in Munich/Germany where he built his private recording studio. Songs like "Die Wolk'n" and "Flipper" were his biggest hits. After some years of hard working, in 1985 he turned back to the charts with the gold-awarded album "Süchtig" and also gold-awarded single "Segel im Wind".
Peter Janda was born in 1955 in Vienna. After his school-years he studied the piano and composition at the High School for Music and Performing Arts. When he was 22 years old he had his first experience in the music-business. He played the keyboards on the first album of Austrian singer/songwriter Georg Danzer. In 1978 he founded his own band called "Orange Power". This year also was the release of the first Orange Power longplayer. For some years he worked as session-man, producer and arranger also in Germany and the USA. Now Peter Janda is one of the finest keyboard players and producers in Austria and has already finished the new album of Peter Cornelius.
Richard Österreicher was born in Vienna in 1932, and began at the age of twenty to take guitar lessons. In 1964 he formed his first own band and two years later began to freelance at the ÖRF. In 1971 Richard Österreicher became a member of the ÖRF Big Band and has conducted the same band since 1974. Since 1982 he has his own Richard Österreicher Big Band. He is conducting the Austrian entry for the Eurovision Song Contest for the ninth time. [Notes from the official 86 programme by NRK]
