Biography
Monica Törnell was discovered by Dutch troubadour Cornelis Vreeswijk when she sang in her father's café in Söderhamn when she was 16 years old. Cornelis took her with him to Stockholm. This led to TV appearances and tours and a year later she made her first record. During her 15 years as a professional artiste, Monica has gone her own way and created her own image with her own viewpoints, thoughts and feelings. This year she is publishing her 10th LP as a soloist. She has produced it together with Janne Schaffer, one of Sweden's best-known and respected musicians (guitar). The titles on the LP include above all a duet with Steve Marriott (Small Faces & Humble Pie): I just want to make love to you!
Lasse HoIm has been in the music business since the beginning of the sixties, when he toured Sweden with his own band. Since then he has gone over more and more to composition. He now composes for many of Sweden's leading artistes. This is the fourth time that Lasse has composed for the Eurovision Song Contest. He has won the Swedish final three times before - with "Dag Efter Dag" sung by Chips in Harrogate 1982, with "Främling" sung by Carola in Munich 1983, with "Bra Vibrationer" sung by Kikki Danielsson in Gothenburg 1985.
Anders Berglund was born in Stockholm in 1948. He has played the piano since the age of seven. After leaving school he immediately started working as a touring musician in Sweden. Between 1973 and 1975 he was a member of BLUE SWEDE - the band of Björn Skifs, one of Sweden's most popular artists. Anders toured the USA on two occasions with this band. He has been working as a freelance since 1975 - gramophone producer, arranger, orchestra conductor, composer and pianist. Anders Berglund is today one of the Swedish arrangers and orchestra conductors most in demand as far as stage shows, radio and TV are concerned. As a composer he wrote, for instance, the music to Lennart Nilsson's film "The miracle of life" and the current successful musical "Skål" in Stockholm. This year he conducts the Swedish contribution to the Eurovision Song Contest for the fifth time. [Notes from the official 86 programme by NRK]
