Biography
Gür Akad was born in 1958 in Istanbul. He started his musical career in 1973 and has been working with several groups. He set up the group Klips. Gür Akad is a guitarist, soloist, vocalist, composer and lyric writer for his group.
Derya Bozkurt was born in 1958 in Istanbul. After his high school years he has pursued his musical career in foreign countries. He is now the drummer and the vocalist of the group Klips.
Emre Tukur was Born in 1965 in Ankara and started his musical career during his high school days. He is a key- boards player. He is now a student of sociology at the Bogazici University.
Sevingul Bahadir was born in 1959 in Istanbul. In her high school days she participated in a song contest and continued her musical career as a soloist and vocalist in several groups. Bahadir is married and has one child.
Candan Ercetin was born in 1965 in Kirklareli. She participated in the Milliyet High School Music Contest. She is now a vocalist in the group Onlar, and at the same time she is a student of archaeology and of music at the Conservatoire.
Melih Kibar was born in Istanbul in 1951. He graduated from the German High School and has studied chemistry and engineering at the Bosphorus University. He has a Master's degree at the University College of Wales. He started his musical career in the school years and won a first prize as composer at the Milliyet High School Music Contest in 1970. Until 1975 he worked with Timur Selçuk, who conducted the orchestra that same year for Turkey in the Eurovision Song Contest. Since 1975 Melih has composed 273 tunes, 9 musicals and various film musicals in cooperation with Cigdem Talu. He won the "Golden Orange" prize for the musical of the film "Hababan Sinifi". Melih Kibar has participated in various international festivals and is the winner of many prizes in Turkey and abroad.
Ilhan Irem was born in 1955. His musical career started early and he is still active as a composer, lyric writer and singer. He has participated in various song contests in Turkey and in foreign countries and has won many prizes, including five gold discs for his record sales. He represented Turkey at the "Golden Orpheus" song contest in 1984. Ilhan Irem was previously a supporter of the new romanticism in Turkish popular music but is now concentrating on symphonic rock, composing music for his own lyrics. Ilhan Irem has written the song "Halley". He is often working in cooperation with the composer Melih Kibar. [Notes from the official 86 programme by NRK]
