Biography
Kari Kuivalainen was born in Helsinki on 14 November 1960. Kari has been interested in music throughout his life. He joined his first band at the age of 11. He played the drums in four different bands and performed on two singles during this period. His success as a solo artist has been so great that he has given up playing the drums. Although his soloist career has lasted only one year, he has already sent two singles to the top of the charts. Kari is also a composer, and his Eurovision Song Contest entry "Päivä kahden ihmisen" is his own work. Last October Kari released his first LP in Finland.
Ossi Runne has served as a conductor and trumpet soloist with the Radio Dance Band, and since 1965 he has been the conductor of YLE TV 1. For twenty years now he has conducted the orchestra accompanying Finland's Eurovision singer. [Notes from the official 86 programme by NRK]
