Biography
Yardena Arazi started singing while doing her national service. During that time she performed throughout Israel as a singer and actress. She is no stranger to Eurovision; her group Chocolate, Menta, Mastik came sixth in the 1976 competition and in 1979 she presented the Contest from Israel. That same year she launched her solo career and has since released seven albums, six of which went gold. She has been awarded "Singer of the year" titles in 1984, '85, '86 and '87, and a recent national survey named her "Israel's most popular singer of the 80's".
Boris Dimitshtein, who composed the music for 'Ben Adam' was born in the USSR. He started his musical education at the age of six, and since then has devoted his life and career to music. He moved to Israel in 1978, where he teaches music. 'Ben Adam' is his first song to be published.
The lyricist, Ehud Manor, is considered to be one of the most successful authors of his country. He frequently writes for the theatre - a notable recent success was his adaptation to Hebrew of "Les Misérables". He previously won the Eurovision Song Contest in 1978 with "Abanibi".
Born in 1950, Eldad Shrim studied music in the United States where he specialised in movie music. He writes songs, and works as a musical arranger. A recent project was the arrangement for "Les Misérables" in Israel. This is the 4th time he has conducted the Eurovision Song Contest for Israel. [Notes from the Official 1988 Programme by RTÉ]
