Biography
Thomas Forstner began his stage career at the age of only 3, won a hit contest at 10, and joined the Wiener Sängerknaben with whom he travelled around the world. In June 1988, he won a talent competition with his ballad song "Still Hoping", which not only attracted the attention of the music experts - they elected him "Newcomer '88" - but also gave him the chance to record professionally. Meeting up with Dieter Bohlen to represent Austria at the song contest is a dream come true for Thomas Forstner.
German composer/producer Dieter Bohlen started his career writing over a thousand songs for a Hamburg music publisher. After receiving his first golden disc he decided to become his own producer. The triumph of his "Modern Talking" project in the international charts began with "You're My Heart, You're My Soul". He then continued as a composer and producer by working with such artists as C. C. Catch, his own formation Blue System, as well as for television and movie soundtracks. In early 1989, Dieter Bohlen was appointed to write the Austrian entry for this year's Eurovision contest. He is also set to produce an album with Thomas Forstner following the contest. In 1998 Dieter returned as Modern Talking with Thomas Anders, this time adding rapper Eric Singleton.
After studying guitar and singing at the Cologne Academy of Music, Joachim Horn-Bernges (born Hans-Joachim Horn-Bernges) tried his hand at composing and writing texts. His first successes were as co-author of Howard Carpendale's "Nachts wenn alles schläft" and as author of Drafi Deutscher's "Tief unter meiner Haut" and producer of Nino de Angelo's hit "Jenseits von Eden". His lyrics for "Nur ein Lied" were chosen by Dieter Bohlen from among 12 others. [Notes from the Official 1989 programme]
