Biography
Fanny Polymeri is a Greek-American, born in New York in 1964 and educated in Athens and New York. She has toured America with her singer-father, Photis Polymeri, and they appear regularly on Greek TV channels in the U.S.
Yiannis Savvidakis was born in Athens in 1963. Educated at the Academy of Athens, he completed post-graduate studies in the U.S., at the same time performing in clubs. Back in Greece, Yiannis composed and appeared in top clubs with stars like Yiannis Parios and Pascalis.
Marios Meletiou was born in Famagusta in 1948. He studied at the Nicosia National Conservatory and at the Royal School of Music in Britain. He began composing at a very early age and made his first recording in 1971. He has been with the music department of Cyprus Broadcasting Corporation since 1968. As song-writer, he began recording with Greek and Cypriot stars in 1979.
Efi Meletiou was born in 1954 in Alexandria, Egypt. She graduated in Nicosia and went with her family to Los Angeles, returning 2 years later to marry Marios. She has written the lyrics of hit songs composed by Marios.
Charis Andreadis is an eminent conductor in Greece and orchestral arranger of many recordings. Born in Salonica, he studied at the Athens Conservatory and in New York. He also conducted at the 1978, 1985 and 1988 Eurovision contests. [Notes from the Official 1989 programme]
