Biography
'1X Band', less than five years in existence, is rapidly growing in popularity. This is mainly due to the radio exposure of its recordings and the winning of the Slovenian Song Contest and consequent selection for Millstreet. An 'X Band' is a Slovenian local phrase for a totally unknown band. The group's members are Cole Moretti - guitar, Andrej Bedjanic - keyboards, Brane Vidan - bass, Tomaz Kosec - drums, and Sandra Zupanc and Barbara Sinigoj - vocals. Urska Gestrin is the choreographer. Their album 'A New Morning' has just been released.
Composer Cole Moretti plays guitar and is the founder of '1X Band'. He has composed a large number of songs, many of which have been recorded. He contributed to the composition of the score for the film 'Trinajstica' and as guitar/vocalist has recorded with top Slovenian bands.
Tomaz Kosec, drummer in '1X Band', wrote most of the lyrics for the band's debut album. The Slovenian entry is his first lyric collaboration with Cole Moretti.
The music for Slovenia's entry has been arranged by the outstanding conductor and composer Jozé Privzek. He has directed the Radio TV Orchestra in Ljubljana for more than 30 years and has composed the scores for 18 motion pictures. [From the 1993 Programme by RTÉ]
