Eurovision Song Contest 1993
7 former Intervision members wanted to make their debut at the Eurovision Song Contest 1993. Because the EBU could only allow 3 of them to enter the contest, a preliminary heat was held in Ljubljana (Slovenia), hosted by Tajda Lecse.

Eurovision Song Contest 1993
Several records were broken again in 1993. 25 countries were in competition as Yugoslavia withdrew (in fact, the country didn't exist anymore) but the former Yugoslav republics Slovenia, Bosnia-Herzegovina and Croatia made their debut. These three new countries won a preliminary heat in which 7 countries from Eastern Europe, who all wanted to participate, competed. Furthermore the city where the contest was held had never been smaller than this year’s host city Millstreet. A rich inhabitant of Millstreet offered RTÉ his riding school as venue, which they gladly accepted as it reduced the costs a lot. Ireland conceived it's second consecutive victory.
