Again, RUV decided to hold a ntional final to select the Icelandic Eurovision Song Contest participant. Three acts competed and the winner was chosen by a jury and only the winner - Sigrún Eva Ármannsdóttir - was announced.
Sigrún Eva Ármannsdóttir already had had Eurovision Song Contest experience: in 1992, she represented her country as part of the group Heart2Heart. Furthermore, she finished third in the 1991 Icelandic final.

Since RUV was not happy with the song and the singer, Nætur was re-arranged by Frank McNamara. The new singer chosen was Sigga (whose real name is Sigríður Beinteinsdóttir), who already competed in the Eurovision Song Contest twice: 1990 as part of the duo Stjórnin and two years later - together with Sigrún Eva Ármannsdóttir (!) - as part of the group Heart2Heart.
