Biography
Alexandros Panayi was born in Nicosia in 1970 into a family of musicians. After studying piano, singing and French horn he soon became an established national singer/songwriter. He graduated with honours from Berklee School of Music, Boston, where he won Outstanding Performer Award in 1993. While in the United States Alexandros had the opportunity of singing with celebrities such as Billy Joel and Richard Marx. He has released three albums in Cyprus and has already begun his recording career in Greece. Alexandros is no stranger to the contest, having participated as backing vocalist for Cyprus in 1989 and 1991 with Fani & Yiannis and Elena Patroclou respectively . Katerina Andreou, Christina Argyri, Nassia Trachonitou, Constantinos Philippou and Demetris Chorianopoulos are the backing vocalists. [Notes from the Official 1995 Programme by RTÉ]
