Biography
Marianna Efstatiou was born in Athens and began to play the piano at the age of eight. After she finished school in Athens, she studied classical music, rhythmic dance, opera and music therapy for six years at the Academy of Music in Cologne. Upon returning to Greece in 1986, she recorded her first LP. She has represented Greece twice already: in Brussels in 1987, with the group Bang, and in Switzerland in 1989, where she attained 9th place. Marianna Efstratiou has made four LP recordings, two of which include romantic ballads by the famous Greek composer, Mimis Plessas.
Costas Bigalis was also born in Athens. In 1977 he performed in the modern Greek opera "Utopia" composed by the much acclaimed Mimis Plessas. Two years later he starred in the rock opera "Jesus Christ Superstar". In 1984 he recorded his first LP record. From 1987 to 1989 he lived and worked in the USA. Since returning to Greece he has made three extremely successful solo LP records, the last two attaining platinum-hit status. The ESC is not new for Bigalis - in 1994, he participated in the final with the group "Sea Lovers".
Songwriter Iro Trigoni comes from the island of Paros. She has studied theatre and acted in many plays. She is also a producer of radio programmes. She has worked as a professional songwriter since 1991, collaborating with some of Greece's most remarkable composers, and her songs have been interpreted by some of the country's most famous voices. Iro Trigoni has written the lyrics for 20 LP records, and through a recent collaboration with her colleague Aris Aristophanous, her songs have now crossed the borders of Greece.
