Biography

Elisabeth Andreasson (38) is representing Norway for the third time in the international Eurovision final, but she has in fact also represented Sweden. That happened in 1982 when she and Kikki Danielsson were a duo called Chips. But it isn't so strange that Elisabeth has two home lands: she was born in Gothenburg of Norwegian parents, and it was in Sweden that her career as a singer and musical artist began.

As one of the Norwegian duo Bobbysocks! she and Hanne Krogh were the first Norwegians ever to win the ESC in 1985, with the song La det swinge (Let It Swing). Elisabeth also represented Norway in Dublin two years ago with the song Duett, together with Jan Werner Danielsen. Today Bettan, as she is called, is well established both as a singer and a musical entertainer. She lives in Oslo with her husband Tor and their one-year old daughter Anna.

Torhild Nigar was also born in Sweden. She has lived in the USA for nine years but now lives in Hommersäk, near Stavanger.

Nigar studied to become an artist, but is now a full-time musician. She participated in the National Final in 1992, and her first solo CD, Stille vann (Still waters), was released in 1994. Although she feels that she is still establishing herself as a musician, it is definitely what she wants to continue with. [Notes from the Official 1996 Programme by NRK]
