Biography
Gina G (25) was born in Queensland in Australia. Her parents are both musicians and performers and gave her her first musical aspirations. In 1987, Gina G moved to Melbourne, where she worked as a disc jockey at the city's most popular club, before joining the influential dance group Bass Culture. They recorded their first single in 1992 - written and sung by Gina G - and it reached the top 40 in Australia. In 1994, Gina moved to England, where she continued writing and performing. Gina G is also a great horse lover and is entering the U.K. Chase which takes place near her home in Berkshire later this year.
Over the last two years, the remix team Motiv8, have blazed a trail in the dance world, with their distinctive Euro-pop sound. The man who started Motiv8, Steve Rodway, is responsible for this year's British entry to the Eurovision Song Contest. He was born in Cambridgeshire and now lives in Seven Oaks in Kent. In 1990, he established his own record label FX Records in order to release his own material. Motiv8's second single, Rockin' For Myself reached the U.K. top 20, achieving platinum status in Australia and becoming a major club hit across Great Britain and Europe. In his spare time, Steve is a keen skier, wind-surfer and tennis player. He hopes to find more time to spend flying.
Simon Tauber (29) has co-written the words of the song Just a Little Bit. He was born in London and has been playing piano and writing songs from an early age. His parents encouraged him to have a musical career. He has been writing and singing professionally since finishing a college course in film in 1989. Simon is currently working on new material for Gina G at the same time as finishing his own single, which will be released later this year. His hobbies are flying, tennis and skiing.
