Biography
Thomas Laegård - or Kølig Kaj, as he is known - was mad about hip hop and rap when he was growing up in a tiny Danish village. He wasn't allowed into the music classes because he wanted to improvise, so he wrote scripts and organised school events, and performed in shows. His song about a man who falls in love with Directory Enquiries is performed with Christina Juul Hansen (as the telephone voice), singers Lise Dandanell and Susanne Carstensen, and dancers Mikala Matzau and Marlene Britt Hansen.
Lars Pedersen - known as Chief 1 - is the man who brought rap to Denmark with his band, Rockers by Choice, whose international hit Engel was one of the few Danish numbers ever aired on MTV. The 27 year old has his own record company and studio, Track Team, which has released four CDs and many singles, and has already had two golden discs. [Notes from the Official 1997 Programme by RTÉ]
