Biography
The group Eden was established two years ago, and consists of four members: Refael Dahan, Doron Oren, Gabriel Butler and Eddie Butler. The song was co-written by group-member Gabriel Butler, the group's musical producer, Ya'aqov Lamay, Jackie Oved and singer Moshe Datz, which is also co-manager of the band, together with old-time producer Shlomo Tzach, who said when the song was chosen: I'm happy and proud of the group's achievement. Originally 'Yom Huledeth' was written and recorded in English, we made a couple of changes to it, wrote it some Hebrew lyrics, and to our joy it was selected.
As hosts Israel of course picked up votes from most countries as seems to be the practice in the last few years but despite the clichéd Happy Birthday chorus the group did a great performance, dancing their hearts out before the home audience. Not a lasting favourite perhaps but a good, fun song.
