Biography
Linda Wagenmakers is 24 years old and already well-known in Dutch showbiz. Her breakthrough came a few years ago in the Dutch version of the musical Miss Saigon, where she played the role of Kim. Her voice has also been heard as Mulan in the Disney movie with the same name. Linda has also acted in a popular television drama series and is currently studying law at the University of Utrecht, as well as recording a CD.
Ellert Driessen and John O'Hare are both well-known songwriters in the Netherlands. Particularly Ellert Driessen has written many hits for popular singers like Ruth Jacott (ESC 1993) and Gordon. He is also known from the popular 1980's group Spargo where he was the leadsinger.
Lyricist, saxophonist, composer and translator John O'Hare was born and raised in England but has been living in the Netherlands for the past 20 years. During this period he has been working with a variety of artists, including Petula Clark, Father Abraham (well-known for the 'Smurfs') and Pim Koopman ('Kayak' and 'Diesel'). In the mid 80's, John formed the reggae group 'What Fun!', in which he played the saxophone. The group enjoyed considerable success in the Benelux, and other countries, with the hit 'The Right Side Won'. Two years ago, he met Ellert Driessen (of Dutch origin, but resident in England for the past decade) by coincidence. It was a meeting that led to a cross-border musical collaboration and the production of the Dutch ESC entry 'No Goodbyes'.
