Biography
Sofia Mestari was born in Morocco 19 years ago, but grew up in the south-west part of France. Always fond of music, she soon started to sing in a few groups and did covers in bars and private clubs. In August of 1998, she triumphed in a regional music festival called "Reconnaissances" in Argelès-sur-Mer. Then she went on to record in a studio in Toulouse. She is very fond of Tracy Chapman and Charles Aznavour.
Composer Pierre Legay was born in Paris in 1968. He began studying the trumpet at the academy of music at a very early age, and continued doing so for ten years. Later, he decided to change the trumpet for the bass. Today he is a session musician and an accompanist. He has been performing with many groups, and worked with various artists. For Sofia Mestari, he wrote a light and acoustic melody to fit her deep voice.
Lyricist Benoît Heinrich was born in Fontainebleau in 1969. Previously, he has been writing and working with film. Fond of short stories and tales, he is at present writing his first novel. The original French version of "On aura le ciel" is full of poetic and sensual pictures.
