Biography
Ines, or Eda-Ines Etti in full, is a new star in Estonian pop music. She came from nowhere last year and had an instant hit with the song "One & Only". She was soon called "Estonia’s Britney Spears", and not without reason: They are the same age (18), are almost lookalikes, and sing the same kind of music.
Ines is also a member of the girl trio Class Act together with two other well-known Estonian singers, Hedvig Hanson and Maiken, both of which also took part in this year’s Estonian ESC-final. Maiken sang backing vocals for Ines and Hedvig came second.
The team behind "Once in a lifetime" are part of the production team 2 Quick Start, which also is the name of a pop group led by Pearu Paulus. He is the only one of the writing team who has had - and still has - a career as a singer. He first took part in the Estonian ESC-final back in 1994, when he performed "Kallim kullast" (Dearer than Gold) together with Hedvig Hanson, the song he had co-written with Ilmar Laisaar and Alar Kotkas. Jana Hallas, the lyricist, is part of the production team, but is not a member of the pop group.
"Once in a lifetime" was not directly aimed at Eurovision. It was originally written as an album track for Ines’ coming CD, which now gets extra promotion when Ines represents Estonia in Stockholm.
