Biography

Gary O’Shaughnessy is not only a talented singer, but also plays guitar, bass guitar and keyboards. He comes from a very musical family, where his brother plays guitar and his sister plays piano. Gary believes that he inherited his musical talent from his grandmother who was a gifted piano and fiddle player.

Gary O’Shaughnessy started playing the guitar when he was 12 and went on study for four years with Irish jazz guitarist Eugene Macari. In 1989, he formed a band with his brother Brian and together they toured Ireland, Spain and the UK. In 1995, the two brothers performed as the duo "2 of a kind" which became very popular in cabarets, clubs and pubs.

Gary O’Shaughnessy has competed in the local Irish Eurovision Song Contest twice previously before winning the right to represent his homeland in the Eurovision Contest this year in Copenhagen.

Pat Sheridan has always had two great passions: music and football. Musically, he started as a roadie for a local band and taught himself to play guitar. Later, he was in several bands. Football-wise, he has played in several clubs and along with the football legend Pat Jennings.

Today, Pat Sheridan works as a Charge Hand for a local transport company and spends his spare time writing music. He is thrilled that his song is the one that will represent Ireland this year and this success has reinforced his commitment to writing music.
