Biography
Israel's representative for the Eurovision Song Contest this year is Lior Narkis. A committee on behalf of the Israeli Broadcasting Authority (IBA) has chosen him, due to his prominence and popularity on the Israeli popular music scene. The song, "Millim Laahava" (Words for Love), was written by Yossi Gispan and composed by Yoni Roeh. It was chosen out of four songs presented at a special contest produced by Channel One of the Israeli Television.
Since he was a child, Lior Narkis has portrayed great talent, and has always aspired to fulfill his dream of becoming a singer. By the age of 16, he had released his first album, "Tfilat Chayay" (The Prayer of My Life). During his military service in the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), Narkis joined Tamir Tzur, and formed there the first Mediterranean musical group ever.
His sixth album, "Rak Itakh" (Only with You), which includes the hit "Lekhol Ekhad Yesh" (Everyone Has), has placed Narkis at the center stage of Israeli music. This song was also chosen as "song of the year" in Israel.
A year ago, Narkis released his album "Ze Mehalev" (Right from the Heart). Just like his previous albums, this album was a great success, and produced many hits.
Recently, at the age of 26, Narkis released his eighth album: "Millim Laahava" (Words for Love), named after his Eurovision entry.
Yossi Gispan (Lyricist)One of the outstanding lyricists and composers in Israel today. He is behind some of the major hits of Israel's leading performers. 41 years old, married + 3, born in Israel and resides in the city of Holon.
Yoni Ro'en (Composer)Yoni Roeh, age 39, composer, writer, music producer, singer and TV / Radio programs' host. Yoni Roeh wrote over 600 songs, most of them became famous hits. For over 15 years, Yoni is one of the most important and appreciated artists in the music industry of Israel. He wrote music to movies and worked both as a musician as well as a performer with some of the most famous and important artists in Israel.In addition, today, Yoni hosts a music program in the national TV of Israel – Channel 1, a very successful prime time program.
