Biography

Mando was born in Athens by a jazz pianist father and a classic soprano opera mother.

Her talent in music characterized her as a "miracle child", since at the mere age of 4 she could easily sing opera aries, gospel and jazz music. She followed piano and music theory lessons at the National Conservatory, as well as vocal training and dance lessons.

She can also play the guitar and various percussion instruments. At the age of 14, she performed in the musical "Jesus Christ superstar".

She sung for various orchestras and was a member of various jazz groups.

At the age of 18, Mando signed her first record contract with CBS, which gave her the international hit "Fill me up" and offered her the chance to an international career at a very young age.

Mando remained in America for 5 years, where she took up vocal training with the very famous Hal Scheaffer.

After her return to Greece, MINOS released 6 successful albums of her: "Give me a kiss", "This summer" etc.

Under the SONY label she released 3 more albums, "On the seventh sky", "For all the times" and "Betrayal".

Throughout her career, Mando has had many hits and she also embarked on many international tours in Los Angeles, London, Paris, Toronto, Montreal, New York and Chicago.

She also toured and collaborated with many established Greek performers and composers.

Moreover, Mando's compositions have been sung by many other artists as well.

One more very impressive international collaboration is that with Jean Michel Jarre on one of his own tracks which was sung by Mando in Greek with the title "Zoi" (Life).

Another very interesting collaboration is Mando's duet with Turkish top artist Sertab titled "Fos" (Light).

Mando was the first Greek artist to form her own fan club in 1992, which now has more than 20.000 members.
