It was originally planned that the winner of the Greek casting show Eurostar, Apostolos Psichramis, should perform three songs especially composed by Nicos Terzis for that event and the song for Istanbul should have been selected by televoting. In a last minute change, ERT instead opted for experienced singer Sakis Rouvas.
