National Ukrainian selections
Ukrainian broadcaster NTU saw it big and organised a national selection containing 15 semifinals. A total of 75 songs came at the start of the run for becoming the Ukrainian representative to appear on stage of the 50th Eurovision Song Contest in Kiev.
Biography
Greenjolly will represent Ukraine at the Eurovision Song Contest. The final of the Ukrainian national qualification contest took place on February 27 in a live broadcast on the First National TV channel and over 2,200 viewers voted for the song ‘Razom Nas Bahato’ (‘Together We Are Many’). The band fought off 18 other participants for the right to represent Ukraine in the Eurovision Song Contest.
The semi-final of the Eurovision Song Contest will take place on May 19 in Kiev, where participants from 26 countries will compete to qualify for the final. The 50th Anniversary Eurovision Song Contest will be held on May 21, also in Kiev.
Greenjolly have said that they will change the lyrics of their song for the Eurovision Song Contest. According to the band member Roman Kalyn, the English version of ‘Together We Are Many’ will become the “anthem of free people all over the world”.
