For the first time, the Armenian representative for the Eurovision Song Contest was chosen in a national final. 20 songs took part, 10 in every semi final. In the semi finals, the jury would choose two songs and a third one would be chosen by SMS voting. Nevertheless, in the final seven songs took part since Meri Voskanyan got a wildcard.
In the final, a jury chose the winner. There was also a SMS vote which agreed on the winner, although the SMS voting actually had no influence on the result.
