Wig Wam have reached the first place in the official Norwegian single charts with their Eurovision entry In my dreams. The last time a Melodi Grand Prix winner hit the first place in the charts was 20 years ago when Bobbysocks reached the top with La det swinge.

Last year's Norwegian representative Knut Anders Sørum only managed to enter the top 20 for one week at the lowest position with the song High. Jostein Hasselgård managed to reach the 12th position with I'm not afraid to move on in 2003. Haldor Lægreid peaked at the 5th place in 2001, Charmed & Van Eijk made it to the 3rd place back in 2000 and 1999 respectively. Wig Wam is currently doing a promotional tour across Norway entitled Rock schläger tour and is planning for a promotional tour taking them to Romania, Germany and Ukraine. Last year's album It's hard to be a rock'n roller has been re-issued and renamed to It's hard to be a rock & Roller... in Kiev. As esctoday.com earlier reported Wig Wam's single In my dreams was sold out in less than two days after its release. A double disc including a CD and a DVD with all the performances of Melodi Grand Prix 2005 has been released as well. Having in mind that Bobbysocks won the Eurovision Song Contest 1985 with La det swinge, Wig Wam's successes in the single charts might be a good sign for Norway. Wig Wam will be appearing in the semifinal of the Eurovision Song Contest for which they have been drawn 13th to perform.
