The light in our soul

Helena Paparizou released new single

Helena Paparizou has launched the follow-up single to her 2005 Eurovision Song Contest winning song My number one. The song is called The light in our soul and is one of the songs of her latest album Proteraioteta, wich is still a huge success in Greece.
The light in our soul is written by Kostas Bigalis, who represented Greece at the Eurovision Song Contest in 1994. The song was supposed to be one of the four songs in the 2005 Greek national final, but it was disqulified since it was published by another singer a few months ahead of the the cut off date to enter the Eurovision Song Contest. Helena's album is currently on the second position of the Greek charts, 30 weeks after its release. My number one was quite succesful all over Europe. The single reached the top of the charts in two countries, namely Greece and Sweden, where she even got a gold record for over 30,000 copies sold. Helana Paparizou has just fnished a promotional tour through Europe as she wanted to visit all counrties which gave her 12 points in the 2005 Eurovision Song Contest. The only country left to visit is Turkey, due to security reasons. However, it's expected she will visit the country later this year. Helena Paparizou finished first in the 2005 Eurovision Song Contest. Kostas Bigalis came 14th in the 1994 Eurovision Song Contest representing Greece with the song To trehandiri.
