Changes to artist list
Romania: [UPD] No disqualifications yet!
As reported earlier today on esctoday.com, the list of songs and composers is confirmed, but changes to the performers are possible at this stage. TVR has confirmed that the song Why will now be performed by Daniela Nicol. We believe that the songs Dr. Frankenstein and Shine may also see different artists announced to those published in the official press release earlier today.
UPDATE
It has been reported elsewhere that Nico's song Fight for life has been disqualified after the song was released on the internet prior to the 1st October 2007 cut-off point set in the Eurovision Song Contest rules. esctoday.com has been in close contact with TVR and can state on record at this stage that the song has not yet been disqualified. If it is found that rules have been broken, then disqualification is likely.
TVR have not yet decided on the final process for investigation of the songs. Artists were asked to declare that the songs had not broken any competition rules and Nico has stated that he did not know the song had leaked onto the internet. As the rule states that the song should not be played for commercial gain, and the artist has not in any way benefitted from it's release on the internet, the song stands a chance of avoiding disqualification.
The song One love is also under investigation and likely to be disqualified after it emerged that the song has been previously performed by Alexandra Ungureanu. The song was entered for the competition in 2005 and has since appeared on the internet. It is also believed that the song has been publicly performed by the band Paradise who were selected as one of the 24 semi finalists with it this time, although there is not yet confirmation that this happened prior to 1st October 2007. It has also sumitted for the Battle of the Songs competition organised by former Romanian Eurovision Song Contest representatives, Sistem.

esctoday is really strange sometimes. Why did the writer of the article say "reported elsewhere". I knw they don't like Oikotimes, but they should mention them is they're using the information from that web-site.
I was really hoping that last year's disqualifications would have led to TVR developing a better system of detecting rule-breakers. How about checking out the songs first and then announcing the complete line up? It's only common sense.
I think the argument "the artist has not in anyway benefitted from it's release on the internet" doesn't make sense. Maybe the artist didn't benefit from it, but Google (the owners of YouTube) did!
Otherwise I may as well send a cover of "Dancing Queen" next year into the Romanian preselection. I have never benefitted from it, ABBA did!
Nico is a woman, not a " he " .....
If it is the song "Your love", that Alexandra Ungureanu sang in 2005, then it breaks every rule in the book. You find it easily in Youtube, performed on a TV-show back then.
A shame, since it is a really good track.
"Dracula my love" was disqualified and it wasn't released before... so it's right to disqualified Nico and "One love" too...
Tomorrow (18 jan) all 24 songs will be published on http://www.tvr.ro/eurovision/url so stay tuned.Romania needs your help to send this year a good song...
I agree with you Gwen Stefani!!
whats the purpose of racing true 280 songs in 2 days,
makeing an anoucement of singers and songs,
(sometimes an artist doesn't even know there record-company has send in a song)
and THEN to disqualify the moost of it....
thats just a bad excuse for a "preselection"
