Esctoday.com: The Podcast
Today, this brand new feature hits the iTunes Music Store for you to download for free! You can then easily transfer the show to your iPod or mp3 player and take this chat show style podcast on-the-go with you! Your hosts, Alex Goldberg and Steve Moore, will be presenting a post-show review of each and every National Selection this 2008 Eurovision Season, as well as offering their opinions on the winning (and losing) songs. Listeners will get their chance to agree or disagree by leaving a voice message of their own personal opinion that might very well get played on the next show!
This week, Alex & Steve discuss the Belarussian Final, playing you snippets of all of the 4 songs that made the Final, as well as discussing what they and special guest Ross Bennett think of the Belarussian songs! Plus you'll hear the best of what this relatively young Eurovision nation has given to its fans!
You can also find a pilot episode recorded last week in which Alex and Steve gave you a review of both the Albanian and Cypriot Finals, as well as discussed one of the extremely early fan favourites, the Swiss entry! Each country also had the honour of being inducted into the "Hall of Fame", as listeners are taken on a review of that country's best Eurovision bits. This preview show is also available through iTunes.
One thing the show doesn't have yet is a name! Please feel free to call the show on +44 20813 EURO1 and your response may very well get aired on the next show!

IM GREEK but my 12 points go to SWITZERLAND best song so far...
I must apologize. I was under the impression that this was to be a professional show. I have listened to it now and I now realize that this is not the case. So my previous comments were slightly out of place as I expected a very different production.
The first thing you notice is the poor sound quality. The show is poorly mixed in terms of annoying differences in the output volumes between the talking and the music; the quality of the microphone they are using is far from acceptable; and the music they are playing sounds like it has been downloaded from youtube. Some should really look into the legality of the music played on this show.
It also does not bring me as a listener any new, interesting, or useful information about eurovision. Two hosts and a guest present trivial truisms and pass judgment on various songs, but they do not seem to have excessive knowledge or any particular relevance in eurovision. Who is the guest? Why was he chosen to be featured on this show? Is he in any way relevant to eurovision or is he just a friend of the presenters? Who will be the next guest? Another friend? Another Briton? Another male?
I agree with Liam that they were funny sometimes (especially Steve), but nothing like Graham Norton who sounds like he is their idol. It will be interesting to follow the progression of this show in the weeks to come. I wish you the best of luck and I will offer my comments as I deem appropriate.

Uh, sorry mate, 'hating on' is an aussie term. I didn't mean that you were being hateful, I just meant that you were dismissing the podcast a little prematurely. Basically what i'm trying to say is give the podcast a chance!

That being said, I just listened to them, and I disagree with them majorly on Albania, it's a great song.

So there should be 43 people running the podcast? Lets not forget the fans from countries that have withdrawn, Austria, Italy, Luxembourg, Slovakia, Morocco and fans from nations which don't compete: Australia, Canada, South Africa, New Zealand, Kazakhstan, Lebanon, Syria, Jordan, Tunisia etc...
Basically, there's no way to include every nations opinions, and just because the hosts are British/American doesn't mean they won't be including the opinions of others too! Don't be so fast to hate on the idea!

Well I have no idea, that's why I'm asking. But I'm not sure an American accent will help if the goal is to convince me. I agree that English is presumably the most user friendly language in terms of reaching more people, but if these guys exclude all non-native speakers of English from making a contribution I'm afraid they could be closing the door on the most interesting voices. American commentary is abundant everywhere; I want to know what people in Iceland or Azerbaijan think. Will this show tell me anything about that?

alex clearly sounds american. give it a chance, i've listened to the first 10 minutes and it's really good and funny. i like it a lot. i'm sure there will be other nationalities.
this is one website that is not biased towards any country. there's hardly any uk news anyway
