Heartbeat becomes Candlelight
Hungary: Csézy to perform in English in Belgrade
Csézy, the seventh Hungarian representative in the Eurovision Song Contest, has decided to represent her country with her song in English. As the Hungarian broadcaster confirmed to esctoday.com today the lyrics of the song are ready in English and it will be recorded soon. The Hungarian entry will be entitled Candlelight instead of Heartbeat as the original title, Szívverés, translates.
Five out of the six Hungarian participations in the Eurovision Song Contest so far have been in Hungarian, with the exception of last year's entry by Magdi Ruzsa, Unsubstantial Blues

Tihs is about the video:
Trains trains and finally trains
Is this song about trains
@Jan 1964.
I agree she should change it
we will hear a lot of 'Xezi' and so, cause people dont know/care how to pronounce Hungarian 'Cs'.
Is she also going to change het name into English as people can't pronounce it ? It could be changed into Chee-tah or something like that.
Csézy said that we will have Hungarian part in the song!
Greetings from Finland. I like this song and I do think it should be not be sang in English. It´s perfectly allright to have it in Hungarian. As Jan said before, "Lyrics are always the best when you express yourself in the language you speak and use everyday and naturally".
I agree that the song sounded much better in Hungarian.
Good luck anyway.
I absolutely love this song
My best entry so far! Well done Hungary you never let me down
not good! the hungarian language was beautifull!we will have to wait and see before we judge
@benji zagreb
My point is that as this song really doesn't stand out very much, translating it into English will at the very least ensure that most people understand what the song is about.
As the majority of people do not speak Hungarian, the song would need a very strong melody to carry it in its own language.
I will listen to the English version and then judge, but I like it in Hungarian. (I'm Hungarian so I don't know how this language sounds to a foreigner...)
And I know that the ballad version is the original version, and the other (with the trains) is just made by a fan... I even doubt that Csézy has heard about that version.
But if the English version if bad, the Hungarian fans wil write e-mail to her til she changes her mind, im sure
CSEZY YOU ARE GREAT !!!! YOU WILL HAVE MY VOTE !!!
GOOD LUCK FROM CYPRUS!!!!
What a disappointment!
@dimmis , sorry but some languages are very hard, ok i dont know for greek language but sure , german, finish, estonian, turkeys languages for me are very hard and i m sure that if turkey or finland goes with theyr native language they will never win or the possipility to win are very limit.
@telex fan club
I would rather say: translating it into English will make it even more mediocre
I think songs which are very strong are better sung in national language but with a mediocre song such as this, translating it into a universal language could give it the edge over other average songs.
oh no....not another song in english.
oh well, its not too bad. still, europe has hundereds of languages not 1

How has tell you that the greek language sound hard in the other people!?!?!?!?!!? I live in spain and believe all of my frends (that is from difrent countreys majore Spanish english belgiums and duch they like them the greek a lot.

Darko: "I mean, she could be reciting her shopping list and we wouldn't know"
lol
.. it would be then: "vájkrem juhĹ‘ szalama gulás" and we would think she said "from the bottom of my heart"
Actually, it sounds romantic when you try to sing that line, doesn't it? ;p
@fatix civelek
You forgot "never ever let you on my own"
Why are most people angry about the song being preformed in English? And why are people saying it will be preformed as a ballad?- The performance in the national finals wasn't a ballad- I assumed that only the language would change, not the music and the genre of the song!
I agree with some views that the song will not be in its native language, but around 99% of Eurovision voters will only have heard it in English on the semi final and possibly the finals night. And I pretty sure that they really won’t care!
Personally, I think it will do better in English. The music alone creates a sense of mystery to the song. But understanding the song will help people to remember the song, and feel a sense of emotion to the song- Good decision from Hungary's TV Broadcaster -12pts!!!
(I really do like the song-does anybody know the translation to the song????)
Last but not least:
I want to remember this songs' titel as SZIVVEREZ
Even the song is sung in English..
not candelight ==> that's so ugly
Rembember:
Volare
Eres tu
Molitva
insiem
Neka mi ne svane
To nie ja
Bana bana
Szivverez
Etc..
Szivveres ==> would be a great memorable and monumental name to remember.. What do you think. It has something..
The eastern european countries put their own romantism in their songs, then they become a masterpiece to listen to it.
We always will remind the language of a song on the eurovision stage, even we as esc-fans have heard the original one in the native language.
Do we have to create/make an online-petition are something so the Hungarian Broadcaster changes her mind?? The Hungarian people have to come out for their representative and song.
So Magyarörszag.. p l i z Hungarian.. It is sweet as it is and was at your National Final..

Great point.
I agree but if it's in Hungarian, which most of us don't speak, at least we can have an illusion that it isn't so. I mean, she could be reciting her shopping list and we wouldn't know. If it's in English, we would. I guess it makes a slight difference after all.
cooler is right about a thing.. all songs at eurovision are about love for 98% maybe.. ok.. always the same sentences..
I'm alone - without my own - only my own - out of my own - without you only my own.. etc..
Valentine lost: "About a cliche that wouldn't sound anymore worse in English at all."
Great point.
Almost the same lyrics everywhere - "my heart, my soul", "tell me what u want", "tell me what u need", "u r my love", "why do u leave me", "u r my everything" etc etc ..
Argh Magyar is such an interesting language!!! why on earth is hungary singing in english???? When Nox sang Forogy vilag she was totally out of key but the fact that the language was sooo interesting made me love the song, not that i could underestand a word of it lol...
i wish more countries would sing in thier own languages- although we cant understand it, if the music is good and its sung well it will still touch and reach us- after all isnt music supposed to transcend boundaries.
@ Jan 1964
How do you know Csézy cannot express herself in English as much as in Hungarian?
Do you actually know what the lyrics of the Hungarian version is about? About a cliche that wouldn't sound anymore worse in English at all.
