Piosenka dla Europy
Live: national final in Poland
Live coverage by Gil Laufer
The show has started. The stage has not changed much these past three years. The opening act is Natalia Kukulsa who placed 2nd in the Polish internal selection of 2001. and it is time for the first song.
Kasia Nova - The Devil
The devil is an uptempo song. Kasia wears a red dress and there are 3 dancers around her and 2 backing singers, all in devil costumes.
Edi Ann - Lovin' U
A nice RnB song. Edi wears black and along with her there are 3 backing singers, a drummer and a guitarist, she has a good voice and she eems to be a favorite as the crowd likes her
Izabela Kopec - You've Got My Love
Though it's an "opera" song, it's very rythmic. The stage is dark with many white lights.Izabela is being backed by a dancer and a computer player.
Starnawski & Urban Noiz - It's Not A Game
The stage is orange and black and here comes another RnB song, reminds those American hits, there are 5 people on stage, 2 main singers, a backing singer and 2 guitar players in gray and black suits.
Isis Gee - For Life
The stage is full of smoke and there are clouds in the background. A very strong vocal performance. There is a pianist and four violin players all members on stage are dressed in white
Man Meadow - Viva La Musica
A "swedish" style song. reminds Magnus Carlsson's "Live Forever" from last year. Man Meadow includes 2 male singers, and they're accompanied by 4 singers. The song is very catchy and it could be tonight's winner, though it might bring poland to a 4th non-finalist entry.
Afromental - Thing We've Got
Another slow RnB song. the singers seem to be out of tune. they are backed by a band including a drummer, 2 guitarists and a keyboard.
Plastic - Do Something
A refreshing pop song. The performance is very funky and catchy. the main singer is being backed by 2 dancers, a backing singer, a keyboard player and a guitarist the dancers are holding papers with pictures of recycle and save water. (we've got to shut down the heatmachine)? Totally positive energy
Sandra Oxenryd - Superhero
Sandra represented Estonia in 2006 but didn't qualify to final, now she's coming back to the Polish national final with the song Superhero, another swedish style song (like her song in 2006). Sandra wears a silver-pink dress, like a superhero and there are 4 backing singers/dancers in silver and black.
Natasza Urbanska - Blow Over
3rd last year in the polish national final with I Like It Loud. may this year it will be louder and will win? Natasza wears a white dress and black boots, and so are her 4 dancers. The music is very good and catchy, the performance is good as well and the same for the vocal performance.
Margo - Dlatego Walcz
The only ballad in this preselection. Margo wears a silver dress and being backed by a pianist and two violin players though all other 11 songs were uptempo and jumpy, the performance and the song isn't boring at all and it can do well in the contest itself, it is also the only song in polish in the contest. Margo gets a big applause in the end

I hope Poland does not qualify again and withdraws from the "We hate songs in Polish competition" of Rodowicz. I do not want CD's of that awful woman again.
YES!! Thrilled that Isis Gee won! What a beautiful, radiant song and beautifully sung on the night. Excellent choice Poland, you're in my top 10! Warsaw 2009!
As expected: Isis Gee won.
Not my personal favorite but probably the most secure choice to get to the final.
As usual all the songs in the interval act
were better than all of the competing ones... AND IN POLISH.
I feel with you, Jan 1964, although I'm not Polish myself.
