A Philip Kirkorov composition
Ani Lorak to sing Shady lady in Eurovision
The song was composed by Philip Kirkorov with lyrics by Karen Kavaleryan, the team that has also written Work your Magic for Koldun last year, who finished 6th in the final for Belarus. Kirkorov has also represented Russia as a soloist in the 1995 Eurovision Song Contest.

Ani Lorak will definitely perform great - she's been in the business for 15 years now and is one of the most professional singers both in Ukraine and all the post-Soviet contries...

Fantastic song and great singer though some people, as usual, like always to be against something powerfull like this!
Best song until now in ESC2008!
Quick summary: girl is hot, has a good voice, song is boring, oridnary and cheap although people may like it.

It's cheap and tacky as you would expect. At least we won't have to go to Kiev again. Mind you I like the bit where she sings 'I am a brainy sandwich' towards the end - that's just class. At the start she appears to sing 'I am sitting in the shed' too, which is where I would put her, frankly.

Kirkorov HATES Russian broadcaster. He openly said that he's not happy with people who manage Russian channels.
+ he supported Sakis earlier ... does this mean Greece is a puppet too?

He's not a political tyrant and screaming that Ukraine is a puppet is mega ridiculous.
Kirkorov is just a composer and he helped her to record this song in GREECE.
He's not welcomed in Russia right now and he's interested in the Western stage.
Also Ani Lorak has her own producer company so Kirkorov's part in producing entry will be really small.
Period.
I hope this gay show will not advance further than say no. 39 on the ESC final chart. post-soviet Ukraine has apparently not yet eaten enough of cheap male erotics and teenage-computer-game-style divas. Last year's Serdyuchka was much much more the mature and bizarre ESC style.
Thinking of Belarus last year I'm sure there will be some reworking of the song.

OK song - ok performance - not bad but not great.
Think it should do very well for Ukraine and be around the Top 5 in the final - thanks to its usual friends. Possibly won't do as well as Verka because I can't see the likes of UK giving it 10pts like we did Verka.
I think Bulgaria is better.
In my opinion there were better songs in the Ukrainian Final, but it was obvious that Shady Lady would be the winner. I could tell even before hearing any of the songs.
Last year Ukraine made fun of Russia and came 2nd. This year there's someone from the Russian establishment (that man Kirkorov) representing Ukraine. This goes to show that Ukraine still IS a puppet at the hands of Russia.
This year I was hoping for: no belly dancing from Turkey and a Kirkorov-free song contest. I got 1 out of 2. I suppose that's not too bad!
It's one of those songs where i'm about to say "THIS IS CRAP", but that then have a few well applied tricks (like Darko commented before me) that save them from such a rough verdict. Still I don't quite like it and I'd never vote for this.
I am 100% sure that not only it'll qualify, but also that it'll make TOP10 and maybe even TOP5

Easy Top 5 song.
Inoffensive, easy for everyone to listen to, catchy, great singer who attacks the song... this will do well for Ukraine, even if it's not an "interesting" song.
