Who will be the 5 lucky qualifiers?
Spain: 24 hours left for voting on Salvemos Eurovision!
TVE, the Spanish national broadcaster came up with a very fresh approach this year in order to choose its 2008 Eurovision entry, using Myspace. More than 500 artists submitted songs to the broadcaster. Spanish fans have been voting for nearly 10 days, although the process has been troubled by possible vote tampering and site closures early on. After midnight tonight we will know which 5 acts will proceed to the grand final when the online voting will finally be closed. So far more than 1 million votes have been cast.
Currently Antonio Gonzalez aka El Gato, a 70 year old man, is leading the online voting poll with his song La Biciclitera. In 2nd place and not so far behind is Rodolfo Chikilicuatre
Coral and Mayte, the Spanish Eurovision fan favourites, who were among the top 5 earlier have dropped to 6th and 7th place respectively. There is still time to cast your votes and vote for your favourite entry. You can vote by clicking here http://www.myspace.com/eurovision2008. What I want to see is the number of votes that Rodolfo will have in the end. I'm afraid he will stay in the top5, but let's wait and see.
El Gato has already lost around 100 000 votes

TVE already knew cheating tricks, but they are waiting till tomorrow to eliminate last illegal votes.
Tomorrow we will find La Casa Azul in 1st place, Coral in 2nd and Mayte in 3rd.
By the way, the voting page now states that the final top 5 will be revealed tomorrow at midday. Can't be THAT thorough an investigation then...

Yes they can, and I have been, feverishly. I had one vote left for today, and I thought I'd put it on La Casa Azul, but they will stay top 5 any way I'm sure. I gave it to Baltanas, as I feel sorry for him (and he's cute!) Te Prefiero deserves to be much higher.
It was an interesting experiment, and good on Spain for trying it. I was wondering, are people from outside Spain able to vote? I didn't try, seemed unfair. But as long as they can chuck out the cheaters and jokers I think you may wind up with a good show anyway.
Azahara isn't offensively bad. But she's not good either.
If Spain does not select the Casa Azul, all TVE executives and staff responsible for Salvemos Eurovision should be sentenced to sharing the same SEAT Marbella for a year for that!

Una vez terminado el periodo de votación se procederá a un exhaustivo recuento de todos los votos y se eliminarán aquellos que incumplan alguna de las normas.
In english:
At 23:59 on monday 25 voting will stop however the results that appear in the list of the biggest votes at this time will be provisionalal, not definitive and do not give the right to anyone to be considered a final list. Once the voting period is over an exhaustive recount of votes will take place and those that break the rules will be elimited.
Viva TVE! La Casa Azul has hope yet. Meanwhile Ozon3 seem to have been eliminated totally, which means Coral is back in the top 5 :-)

Hey guys ... Nothing is lost yet. I'm gonna copy and paste a message which has been posted at the myspace website some hours ago. It's in Spanish, but I'll try to translate it.

The message says that the voting procedure will be finished tonight at 23.59 but being among the five first finalists doesn't mean being in the final.
They will count all the votes and delete those coming from fraudelent e-mail accounts and, moreover, they will disqualify those participants who haven't followed the rules (such as Rodolfo -1.49 minute song- or Ozono3 -their song was released in 2005-).
Some people claim that both El Gato and Arkaitz are gonna be disqualified as well, but I don't know the reason at all. Some people say that El Gato doesn't sing at all, it's just a remix of a sentence over and over again. On the other hand, Arkaitz seems to have some links with someone from TVE.
We'll see .. I just hope that Anael gets a ticket for the final. I love her voice, though La Casa Azul keeps on being my personal bet for Belgrade.

There's still a litle hope, as in the official MySpace blog they say they will, after the end of the voting, delete all the fraudulent votes. I keep my fingers crossed.

Only because Ireland sends a turkey doesn't mean that all western countries have to go to that low standards. I know there's block and diaspora voting but please give the new system a chance first.

I gave up voting on this after a couple of days when it became clear that the system was being hacked.
I think this is one for TVE to sort out - it was a good idea but TVE clearly were too innocent and didn't realise that some people would cheat in this way. Pity.

The song currently leading the voting is a great song, very different and strange, but a song that could win the contest. It reminds me the song of Remedios Amaya back in 1983, something absolutely different, never heard before at the ESC. The more I listen "La bicicletera", the more I love it... The song of this chikilikatre is just something crapy and stupid... I don't like it at all! Please Spain, send El gato and La bicicletera, we need this kind of songs!
