Israeli entry announced tonight

Israel: Final Kdam show tonight

The second and final night of the Israeli national final, Kdam-Eurovision 2008, will be broadcasted tonight on Channel 2 and on the internet. One of the 5 songs Boaz Mauda performed last night will be deemed winner tonight and be sent to Belgrade in May.

According to last night's viewing figures, IBA's decision to hand the Kdam-Eurovision over to Channel 2 was proven to be wise: The show last night gained an avarage of 26,6% market share. The second part of the Kdam will be broadcasted tonight, starting once again at 20:00 CET (21:00 local time). During the show tonight, there will be guest performances by Shiri Maymon (Israel 2005) and other artists and former Eurovision Song Contest entrants.

The public in Israel will be able to vote right until tonight's show begins, by SMS and through Channel 2 website. The results will be a mixture of last night's expert's panel vote, the public's vote and the vote of 3 juries, one of them being Israel's OGAE club.

Here is the current status, after last night's experts panel's vote:

  1. 3000 Ke'ilo kan / As if here
  2. 2600 Bli Ahava / Without Love
  3. 2400 Parparim / Butterflies
  4. 0 Masa Haiyai / The journey of my life
    0 Hin'e Ha'or /There's the light

A webcast of tonight's show will be available through:

In my opinion, according to yesterday's performances:
1. without love
2. parparim
3. keilu kan
4. hine haor
5. massa hayay

but unfortunately as it seems now, Dana's song will win the ticket to Belgrade.

I think it's a good song, but I cannot be complete with the decision for Israel to send it...and I also think that something is a bit unpure with a well known celebrity composing the winning entry, compared to the other less known composers and writers - they din't get their chance! :(

Why does one judge's opinion count for 1000 votes?

Oshrat is far to weak live! She looked terrified performing, and Boaz had to help her through. The artist performing with Boaz in "Without Love" has a far stronger voice and seems secure on stage. Maybe she could do Parparim as well? Correcton: Here Comes the Light

*songs

And guys, the panel members decided not to vote for Parparim because they were disappointed of the performance!

Moshe Datz said that, so did Nurit Hirsch.

PARPARIM!
Oshrat said she was stressed, you don't really know her abilities!

Vote Parparim, it is certainly the best songs.

I like all of the songs but I do hope Butterflies is picked. It is a beautifully constructed song and the harmonies are superb. It sounds like a winner to me.

@ David Man

You're right actually. How come the international panelists all voted for Butterflies / Without Love, but only the Israeli panelists voted for As If Here? I really think it's an inferior song to the rest, and I hope the Israel public make the right decision and don't send it.

There are a few beautiful songs in the selection (Butterflies is my personal favourite, but there are other good ones as well), but As If Here is NOT one of them

Why do the Israeli "experts" liek a song noone else likes? Is it beacuse they wanna be friendly with Dana as someone suggested?

I hope Butterflies/Parparim wins, it's by far the best of these! Pity it's on the 3rd place so far...

I love "Journey of my life", but i don't think Israel will send this. Israelis think always that they have to send something that fits in Europe, and I think they will think that this song is too Israeli etc. But I think this attitude is wrong, and I hope being proven wrong!
