Spain: National final in Madrid on March 8th

TVE, the Spanish national broadcaster will be airing its Eurovision national final next Saturday the 8th of March. The show will be held at the Estudios Bunuel, in Avenida de Burgos in Madrid. TVE 1 and TVE International Europe will be airing the show live at 22.30 CET. TVE International America will be also broadcasting the show few hours later. It is highly unlikely the show will be webcast online .

The Spanish national final Salvemos Eurovision will be held on the 8th of March in the Spanish capital Madrid. The venue chosen by the Spanish broadcaster is none other than the Bunuel Estudios of TVE in Madrid. The same venue played host to the Spanish Eurovision national finals in 2000 and 2001 for Eurocancion 2000 and Eurocancion 2001. The show will be aired live on TVE1 and TVE International Europe (via satellite).

10 acts will be battling their way to out in order to achieve the golden ticket to represent Spain at the forthcoming Eurovision Song Contest in Belgrade. 5 entries were elected by the public through internet online voting along with another 5 selected by a special expert jury. Stay tuned to esctoday to the latest news on the Spanish Eurovision 2008 national final.

Coral to Eurovision ... I bought a few cd's of her on my holiday in Spain ... I just love her voice and her songs!!

Alex, c'mon. Who's gonna take that Chikilicuatre thing seriously? It's pure rubbish. I don't think Spain needs to be that ridiculous again. They had enough with Las Ketchup and D'Nash!

La Casa Azul or Coral are the only decent options there. Lorena C's "Piensa gay" is catchy, but the lyrics suck: it's a bunch of old clichés put together.

Anything will be better than the Chikilicuatre horror!

CORAL to Belgrade.

ILUMV was my fav. last year, in Nentherlands i have'd listen to euro-pod an the've tell that their Fav. is Coral, and from Sweden Charlotte.

Rodolfo Chikilicuatre is the best chance for Spain. His song is catchy, fresh and funny. I think, they are adapting the song and preparing a great performance. "The chiki chiki dance" is the only song, that deserves to win... It will be a disaster if a crap song like Coral's one or Innata wins. The more I listen to chikichiki, the more I like it.

La Casa Azul (even if the singer's voice doesn't convince me) or Coral are the only decent options there. Lorena C's "Piensa gay" is catchy, but the lyrics suck: it's a bunch of old clichés put together.

Anything will be better than the Chikilicuatre horror! :S

I'd like to see:
1. La Casa Azul
2. Lorena C
3. Bizarre
The other 7 entries are not good or relevant for me

we should all agree to vote the same so to prevent Chikilicuatre from winning.

i suggest that we should all vote La Casa Azul :)

TVE are aware that the fans here are completely up in arms over the whole selection process. If the "top 5" wasn't enough of the shambles, the judging panels "6-10" were even more of a slap in the face. While I respect their choices (some of them are daring and need to be heard), TVE seems to be terrified that fans will boo during their show and THAT is the real reason why the fans have been excluded. Over the last two weeks every fan was asked for national id numbers etc so that they would be on the "invitation list". The venue hasn't changed, so why has the list?????????'

As people say here in Spain... there is a big "TONGO"

For TVE Internacional América I viwers, we've got to wait until that Saturday's schedule is published on http://www.rtve.es/t(...)amo/avan4/tv4_fr.htm which I pressume will be available from Wednesday on.

Let's just wait and see!! :)

NEWS:

According to a mail sent by TVE to all the spanish esc clubs and more people wishing to attend the spanish gala-show, there will be no possibility to accommodate to anyone in the tv studios, for security and room reasons.

It seems that only relatives and friends of the selected singers will be allowed to be present at the bunyuel-tve studios for the spanish final on march 8th in madrid.

Did anyone hear Porque No Te Callas by Paul? It still has the novelty factor of Chiki Chiki to an extent, named after an infamous political row that Roldofo Chillipollas also mentions - http://en.wikipedia.(...)3%A9_no_te_callas%3F - but it's much catchier and the lyrics are funnier. Anything that shows the love that spanish speaking countries have for Erasure is OK by me also :-)

I hope for La Casa Azul to represent Spain in Belgrade.

TVE definitely sucks. The Final the previous day to the general elections? Are you crazy?

OZONO 3 and NULL SYSTEM should have the same rights, and they must be authorized to change his lyrics to make a different song too. Both have been selected legally (by internet and jury respectively)....

Rodolfo Chikiliquatre and Marzog Mangui needs to adapt her songs also.

YES! So brilliant! I can't wait to see it on TVEi. Lorena C should not be disqualified. It's a pretty good song, and if the song was very different when it was originally performed, as claimed, then it's OK for me. Please get rid of Ellas though...
