Laka's song for Belgrade

Tonight: Bosnia & Herzegovina's song presentation

Preperations of the special TV show to present the Bosnia & Herzegovinian song are almost done for tonight. Laka finished recording his song Pokusaj in Zagreb. The special TV show will see many attractive performances, including Halid Beslic, Bosnian rock bands Letu stuke and Skroz, and Finland's Showhat. Representatives of Croatia, FYR Macedonia and Slovenia to present their songs in the Bosnian show as well.

Tonight in a special BH Eurosong 2008 TV show programme in which the public will hear Elvir Lakovic Laka's song  Pokusaj (Try It) for the first time. Laka will represent Bosnia-Herzegovina at the 53rd Eurovisin Song Contest in Belgrade on 20th May 2008 in the first semi final.

After he spent seven days in Zagreb, recording the final version of the song Pokusaj in the studio owned by one of the most popular and most productive rock producers, Denis Mujadzic - Denyken, on 16th February Laka had a mini-concert in Profil Megastore in Zagreb, within the promotion of his first album Zec, published by Menart productions in Croatia.

Having received excellent reactions and comments from both the audience and the critiques, Laka came back to Sarajevo where he is working hard on the presentation and performance of his song scheduled for tonight starting at 21:00 CET live from BHRT Studio A. Laka's original stage performance will be in the hands of Ales Kurt - one of the most famous theatre producers in Bosnia-Herzegovina, while BHT1 producer Slavisa Masic will be responsible for the live coverage of the show.

The show will see one of the greatest stars of folk music in the region, Halid Beslic, as well as brothers Dino and Adnan Saran, leaders of the most successful Bosnian rock bands Letu stuke and Skroz. The Eurovision evening in Sarajevo will also host this year's representatives of Croatia, FYR Macedonia and Slovenia. The special surprise in the show is the performance by the music-stage attraction "Showhat feat. Stepup Dancers" from Finland, led by the fantastic Osku Heiskasen and Jarkko Valteen. "Showhat" will, in their special way" remind us of some of the greatest Eurovision hits. At the end of the show, there will be a press conference in the premises of BHRT, followed by the afterparty.

It reminds me of classic eighties new wave: the Smiths, New Order, Waterboys, Echo and the Bunnymen, that kind of music. But visually it is ruined. They definately should drop the idea of making a funny performance.

I've made up my mind: I like it in a rather academical way. I won't fall in love with the song, though. And please, tune it down a bit.

Love the guy's hair ;) Like straight from the 70's...
The song is a bit strange, but ok - and Bosnia has the right to send something funny for a change, after all those melancholic ballads (which were good, especially 2006, but now for something different!)! :)

True, when I listen to it I buy it totally. Visually I think it's an eccentric mess, frankly. I see this as a classic rock-new wave performance on stage, with the band, guitars and drums and all but no arty farty performance plz.

And I will remember where the melody in the verse comes from, that is so borrowed from elsewhere. ;)

A good, but strange song, and performance!

As of right now, this one works.

I'm going to record it and upload it elsewhere just in case it goes down. Give me a minute and I'll have a download link that will always work regardless of what happens with this.

As much as I like it, I hate the performance. Is it supposed to be funny? I doubt if people from all over Europe will understand it. Why the chicken, why the hayforks, why the robotmoves?

Catch/watch it while you can at http://www.youtube.c(...)watch?v=NhEzjT2imeI. Someone just posted it on YouTube, very poor quality, and then it was unavailable, then it happened again with another posting! Not that I miss it at all as it's horrible from any angle you choose to see it, but I'd like to see that rooster (or cockerel or however you choose to call it) again. кукуригу, kykyrikí, üü-ürü-üüü, qui-qui-ri-qui', kukurikú, kukeleegu etc
etc
