Turkey: Ajda Pekkan lands major advertising deal
Ajda Pekkan is known to eurofans as she represented Turkey in the 1980 Eurovision Song Contest with Petr'oil. The popular lady, looking better at 62 than ever, released her latest album in 2006 and this year she signed a major advertising deal with Polisan paint company for which she received no less than 1 million Turkish liras (about €600.000). Apart from the TV commercial below and posters, the deal includes more commercial films as well as a total of 10 nation-wide concerts.

Oh dear. What happened to aging with grace? She was so beautiful and now her face is so cut up and stretched back that she looks more like a monster, I'm sure she'd be much more beautiful if she'd stayed away from the plastic surgery!

i am one of the biggest fan of Sezen Aksu. Sezen Aksu as a song writer, as a singer, as a producer, as a great talent is nodoubtly different from Ajda Pekkan..She is unique..So Ajda should learn more from Sezen Aksu..she d better..who is the teacher now??
P.s: i should admit..Ajda is a diva with strong voice..but...u got it anyway..

What Ajda does to herself with all those surgeries is her concern. You don't need to be so hateful about her. She is an idol no matter what she does to herself.

In 1980 Ajda got 3 points from Austria, 8 points from Italy and 12 points from Morocco (no points from Greece) and ranked 15th out of 19 contestants leaving Norway, Belgium, Morocco and Finland behind.
Petr'oil will still be an ESC classic in 50 years.

Ajda Forever
In in 2003 or 2004 we decided to go to an open air concert of Ajda Pekkan thinking that in a couple of years she might not be on stage again so we decided to hear her while she could still sing. Amazingly, she had the voice of a diva, breath of an opera star and looks of a young girl. We were embarrassed of our thoughts. We enjoyed every moment of the concert and realised that Ajda will always be the same Ajda, only better..

i see what u mean, but still i cant believe that that was the sole reason that countries like greece, turkey or portugal were constantly flopping whatever they may sent back then. I mean they had tried all possible musical genres, only to find themselves in the bottom list year after year. (With poor portugal still left out 
)
I m just pointing out that the contest was always unfair, as it still is now. Judges were not any fairer than televoting is today. May i remind u the friendly exchange of votes towards beloved neighbors in scandinavia back then. Or the disgraceful results we have suffered cause of judges biased verdicts. IMO 1991 for example was the uttermost unfair voting results in ESC history. France lost a well-deserved win over some friendly 12's and many good entries had to suffer one of the crappiest entries ever being awarded the trophy.
Anyway...

@vn, you can't judge the 1980 contest by today's standards. Nowadays a lot of people are used to more ethnic sounds. In those days Petr'oil was for a western ear almost the same as Chinese music. More important is that Ajda's song is one of those which Eurovision fans still like after almost thirty years.
when is mor ve otesi realesing a video? don't hear much about them on esc, are they making any changes to song?

she has nice songs and voice but her looks are way too better when she was natural not plastic, i hate plastic surgery. I don't get why people go wow, she is not natural to look young, I like natural people and i would go wow if she was natural However her songs and voice is wow so that's all I care. Music in the background is a song I love.
I love her....She is full of life and energy...
