Miodio will sing Complice
San Marino: Full official video released
San Marino will be competing in the Eurovision Song Contest semi final 1 on the 20th May in Belgrade. Miodio is a 5 piece group composed by 3 Italians and 2 Sammarinese.
Miodio are Nicola Della Valle (vocals), Francesco Sancisi (keyboards, programming), Polly (bass guitar, programming), Paolo Macina (guitar) and Alessandro Gobbi (drums). The Miodio project was born in 2002 and their first album came in 2006. It contained five tracks and was produced by Acanto label by the well-known composer and producer Andrea Felli. In 2007 they signed an exclusive contract with Opera Prima, the label of the Roberto Fiachinni, son and manager of Renato Zero, the Italian mega star. Their single It's OK, is still in the playlists of national radio stations in Italy.
The band claim they represent "a new way of thinking, born by anger and the will to react that each individual carries in their ego". They have extensive live concert experience as they have performed as a support group at Renato Zero's MpZero Tour 2007 and have supported Matia Bazar. They have also won the 17th San Marino Festival as well as the Viva Music Award and Most Original Song Award of the Bologna 2006 Festival delle Arti. Miodio represented San Marino in the 12 Biennale in Napoli.

I've got a new number 1. I love this song. really really love it. esp with all happening arount the plagiarism for Portugal and Switserland, I think it's just good to finally listen to something refreshing in this contest. Complice is honest and that's what I love about it. Go San Marino, happy to be there in 2009!!!
Goodluck san marino, I like the song, should do well.
Quite good!! Although I find difficult that San Marino could pass to the final by televote, it could get the jury wildcard.
Good luck!!
@ Chris, I'm italian and I can say both MiOdio and Paolo Meneguzzi sing in an excellent Italian! It's their language, so why should Paolo's italian be worse than MiOdio's?
I really like this song and it is one that I will want to hear long after the contest is over. I just hope it is strong enough to get noticed compared to some of the attention-getting rubbish this year.
A MUCH better Italian language song than the Swiss entry, but the Swiss entry will qualify over this because their's is more instant and in your face, whereas the Sammarinese song is more nuanced and low key. It's amazing, but sadly nuanced and low key doesn't win Eurovision... FANTASTIC first try though... welcome San Marino!
It's hardly Muse but it's actually not half-bad at all. I'm not sure it will appeal though at Eurovision especially because Turkey has a similar style song that I think is better
Congratulations to the committee for the courageus choice. It would have been easier to pick a silliest song up or some classical eurosong. Instead here we have a modern one, sung in Italian by a group with Sammarinese elements. I don't know if it will pass the semifinal but it's a very nice and unusual song, that shows how a MODERN European song contest should be.
I read with pleasure many positive reactions for SanMarino entry. Anyway, folk remember to vote for them in the 1st semifinal
i love it!
wonderfull. hope to see it in the final.
well deserved!!!!
San Marino it's grate. Good luck
not for me. i do not really like the song or the singers
not a bad song....i hope it get sinto finals. Well done San Marino...... btw if they were to win the eurovision would they have to hold the contest in Itlay or could they hold it themselves? It would be amazing for such a small country to hold the ESC!! And talking of which.... I was very impressed at the staging and lighting in Iceland's Eurosong contests...I reckon iceland would do a great job of holding a ESC.... I giving Iceland y vote this year...good song
ESC 2008
1. Ireland (Dustin the Turkey – Irelande douze points) – music normal , but great lyrics , really very special and liked this puppet, it will be the revenge of Verka. My 12 points to you dear puppet and it is may be the last of ESC lol
2. Azerbaijan (Elnur & Samir- Day after day) – love opera voice, lyrics is ultra super, don’t want to comment, because it my country. Don’t like to praise as others do
3. Sweden (Charlotte Perrelli – Hero) – likes Carola’s Invincible, but loved very much, she has strong voice.
4. Iceland (Eurobandit – This is my life) – for me they are the winner of ESC 2008, but with NF version, if they sing it with new version, they are out of my top 10. Both of them are great
5. Armenia (Sirusho – Qele qele) – likes Helena’s My number one and Diaspora will help it. But the song is really interesting, want to dance when listen .
6. Turkey ( Mor ve otesi – Deli) – don’t like rock so much, but the combination of words in lyrics is really professional. Good luck Brothers.
7. Russia (Dima Bilan – Believing) – hmm worse than Never let you go of course , but Russia always rules, Bilan is great without ESC too. Soviet block will help him.
8. Bulgaria (Deep Zone& Balthazar – Dj take me away) – the song is very original!!! Last two years Bulgaria rocks! Very Special!!!
9. Israel ( Boaz Mauda – As if here) – It becomes Israel to continue such series of music. Really great!
10. Greece ( Kalomoira – Secret combination) very similar to Helena’s style, nothing special. But loved because the performance in NF was nice and a big fan of Helena. Love you Greece
This is better than the short clip a few days ago
I've updated my rating accordingly
Slovenia - 12 points
Serbia - 10 points
Switzerland - 8 points
Cyprus - 7 points
San Marino - 6 points
Romania - 5 points
Finland - 4 points
Albania - 3 points
Croatia - 2 points
Portugal - 1 point
I don't like it, I belive you could do it much much better
The song needs more Schlager-spirit I think, and the singer have to sing a bit stronger, but it's deffinitly not bad! It's among the entries one don't expect to hear in the ESC, so Good Luck to San Marino!!!
For me this entry might be a 4/5, Green! But Probably just a 3/5, Yellow one in the end!
It is not as strong a pop-rock song as Iceland's 2007 entry,
but it is a good song. Welcome to the Contest, San Marino!
Good luck!
This year, out of the "italian" entries, I prefer the songs
from SWITZERLAND
(my No.1 out of 43) and ROMANIA
!
Good to have an Italian song this year. It adds to the contest -)
Good Luck San Marino!
"San Marino with the song Complice which will be sung entirely in Italian."
Great news
Not bad, very italian pop-rock song. I hope it gets to the final, but I don't think it will. It's not a trashy song, it's not sang by a trash act, it's not from an eastern country
@ Administrator: how can you allow such a message from Ranma Saotome? I think his profile should be removed, although he's italian like me
This is one of my favourite ESC songs ever!!!!!!!!!!!!! San Marino you rule!!!! I hope you win in Belgrade
Having listened to all the songs now (post Sweden's decision) I think my vote will go to San Marino, Israel, Portugal, Switzerland, Armenia, Turkey, Iceland, Serbia, Ukraine and Cyprus this year... how is that for a Top 10? In no order! Hope 9 of them move to the final...
How is that for covering both East and West?
I think San Marino, Serbia and Israel have the three best songs.
Like it! Hope it will qualify.
I don't like this song but because is not of my taste of music, but anyway... I doubt San Marino will qualify with this. It's so boring anyway...
