At #4 on homeground now
Germany: Chart success for Disappear around Europe
Disappear is currently at #4 after having entered the charts last week at #12. This means that Disappear is the group's biggest hit since they reunited last year. Furthermore, this year's German entry is already more succesful than Frauen regieren die Welt in 2007, which peaked at #7. The other four entries in the German national final are currently all in the charts - Tommy Reeve was the last one to enter. It is only the second time ever that all entries in the national final reach the single charts (the first time this happened was in 2004). Carolin Fortenbacher made the hugest step this week rising from #71 to #44.
The current standings:
- No Angels - Disappear at #4 (+8)
- Marquess - La histeria at #19 (+1)
- Carolin Fortenbacher - Hinterm Ozean at #44 (+27)
- Cinema Bizarre - Forever or never at #70 (-26)
- Tommy Reeve - Just one woman at #88
Marquess have also entered the Austrian single charts at #74 now while the No Angels have rised from #63 to #37. La histeria is also at #18 in the Polish single charts and at #82 in Switzerland, where Disappear has entered the charts at #96. Overall, the German entry is currently number 21 in the Europe single charts.
Meanwhile, the No Angels comeback album Destiny has been re-released to include Disappear. After its first release, it peaked at number four in the album charts.
Although Germany is a big four country and therefore directly qualified for the Eurovision Song Contest final on 24th May, the country has voting rights in the first semi final on 20th May, too. In 2007, Germany finished 19th with Roger Cicero and Frauen regiern die Welt.

The girls weren't THAT good at the German preselection. They weren't out of tune and they did a nice show, but their singing could be improved - and I think, they know it...
The four girls have managed to go through a casting show, so they really CAN sing live much better than they did...
Carolin Fortenbacher was way better live this evening - I think that's the main reason why she only finished one percent behind the No Angels...
But our angels should think about their performance... it's nice, but they should choose other skirts - they looked a bit like Portugal's Nonstop - a bit scary...
And they should change the singing order in the last refrain... Sandy has the biggest voice out of them and her microphone was louder than the ones of the others... She should sing together with Jessica and Nadja the refrain and Lucy who has the best voice in my opinion - and also quite loud - should repeat the chorus lines after the others...
btw.: To be on #4 of the German charts is quite a success - congratulations! Now they have only this terrible "Kuschel-Song", Leona Lewis and Stefanie Heinzmann to beat and we can send another #1 to the Contest 
...
And it's a big success for Carolin Fortenbacher - her album [i]Drama[/i] is already in the album charts and that a German schlager ballad comes on # 44 doesn't happen quite often...

Germany is biggest market in Europe so their chart is more important then UK. Fuck tradition. Who cares.
US Chart Billboard is the most important next to Japanese and I'm so glad that Janet Jackson and Mariah rules them

their live performance was the best at the national german final..ok, that song is not a really winning song, but it is the best for germany this year..

I prefer their live performance. The song was much more interesting when they sing it live than in the music video. They have sung live well. I don't think that they were out of tune.
Also for last time Berlin is not holding any German win Hamburg is the centre for any Eurovision now and if anytime they win lol.
I am half German and I like the song it is easy listening pleasant pop BUT I am sorry guys they DID NOT sing well live..it was pretty bad and we have to remember a videoclip or a CD in the charts is not a group singing live which on the night of selection was so so out of tune. It`s nice it is having great potential but German chart success is not UK or USA chart success it is not anything to faint about.
I am realistic not living in a fantasy land and in 2008 there are some STRONG songs with great singers.

I really liked all the songs in the German national final this year, especially No Angels and Fortenbacher, in my opinion Germany has the strongest song of the Big 4 but that's not exactly hard... lol
