Memories: When France Gall accepted to sing it again
In a show dedicated to Claude François, broadcasted on September 14, 1974, the man invited France Gall (with whom he had a love affair from 1965 to 1967) and together, they sang a special medley of their early hits. That's how France was "obliged" to sing the chorus of Poupée de cire, after Claude François said "I know you're not really keen on these songs, because you have changed a lot but it's fun for me and for the viewers to hear them again". Many TV shows, books and records are presently been dedicated to Claude François in France, as the country commemorates the 30th anniversary of his accidental death, on March 11, 1978.

Well if that's your opinion then i cant do anything about it...i did never say i "hate" any country! On the contrary I am not prejudiced against any nation and I am always happy 2 meet foreign ppl. You r really getting this 2 far from what I originally said and you need 2 stop getting what others say twisted! If u visit my prof when I say "hate" or "love" or "not interested in" I always mean the songs! Not the countries! I think I am "allowed" to have different taste on songs arent I? So dont start talking about respect again if u dont understand what I say coz trust me....I am mature enough 2 know how much respect 2 show!

France Gall has kept a terrible memory of her performance in Naples in 1965. She was slapped by Kathy Kirby right after she had won the competition. And after her victory, her career was no longer as successful as it was, especially when she decided to stop working with Serge Gainsbourg. She realized that some of the songs he wrote for her had very strong sexual innuendos (especially "Les Sucettes", which is a metaphore about fellatio)
Fron 67 to 73, she almost dissapeared from the French show business, and she blamed her being labeled as a Eurovision act for that. When she met her future husband, Michel Berger, she was popular again, and she is still a very respected artist in France, although she quit singing in 1992 after Berger's sudden death. She also lost a daughter aged 16 and had to fight for breast cancer.
She has now decided to erase all traces of her career from the 60s to 1975 and she only performs songs written by Michel Berger.

Well i never mansioned downloadng songs just told you my opinion news we get here on esctoday generally ... of course theres life behind Eurovision and of course im not listinng only eurovision music ( which is moustly euro trash music recently) im not 'bechin' you sorry if u understand it wrong as u like told us one of opinions i told you mine couse Eurovision has more then 50 years and its great tradition sharing music between countrys and others opinions and i love it

Well then here we go again! How on Earth did u assume i download songs illegally from the fact that I'm interested in this year's news? That's insane and let me get this clear! I just think this list of those kind of news is a bit too long for a period of time like this!! What's some ppl's problem talking about "respect" I cant understand! 1) get a freakin life it's not like the most important thing in the world! and 2) stop bitching on ppl who just express their opinion! As long as my comments r not considered "spam" as some of u said i can say whatever i want and i dont call others disrespectful for doing so...And yeah I'll say it once more : give us some fresh news plz those stuff r ok during september lets say but the contest is in 2 months! I don't know much about this singer other than her winning ESC entry, but it seems neurotic for her to walk away from her success like that.
i think this year the wining will belong to a contry which has been winner before

dear projekt zero need to say beein eurovision fun means love eurovision since 1956 - 2008 and beein intersted in all songs from contest and singers who sang on esc
so please respect all history olf eurovision ! Do i need to say how in past there where much effort and proud to be parth of eurovision ano at present moment it became carneval but still sometimes with nice surprises and good songs and in this artical w can found one of the best .... france shood found way how to make again top 10 ....

Both France and Claude are/were absolute legends. It's so sad that Claude is no longer around, he would have made an excellent Eurovision entry for France. I don't think France Gall would ever do it again, but maybe if France (the country!) does well this year anything could happen :-)

If you want to see again Marie Myriam, watch tonight on TV5Monde (Europe) the program called "Tenue de Soiree". She is one the guests of the show, so she will probably sing, the program has just started....
I guess many people don't know that Frank Sinatra's world hit "My way" was in fact an English version of Claude Francois's "Comme d'habitude", a song that the latter wrote after (and about) the break-up with France Gall. What an inspiration!
I have just bought an listened to Sebastien Tellier's album : it's a masterpiece! Congratulations France for that daring choice this year... I don't understand : there are so many people on that forum saying that this entry is one of the best, if not the best, of this year but that it won't win because it's not "Eurovision" enough... Was Lordi Eurovision enough? Not really but it won... So on the Big Night, you all, just vote for "Divine" and it'll get the first spot!!!
