Serbia: Jelena starts promo tour

Jelena Tomasevic who will represent Serbia, the host country of Eurovision Song Contest 2008, will start her promo tour soon. During the tour she will perform her song Oro in several European languages.

"I will go to lot of countries - to neighbouring countries mainly, but probably also Spain, Portugal, Denmark and Finland. I don't exactly know what countries besides the aforementioned I will visit, but I know there will be more." - Jelena said to news agency Beta.

Jelena will be singing Oro in English, Greek, Russian and Spanish language. She also said her performance in Belgrade Arena will look totally different than in Beovizija 2008.

Jelena hopes that the promo tour is going to be a good preparation for the forthcoming Eurovision Song Contest: "I would like to keep my energy and smile on my face and represent Serbia in the best possible way."

@ T K and Finn P: Guys, how about just pretending D K isn't here? If people like that are ignored, they sometimes see sense and just go away...and some of them wouldn't know sense if it jumped up and bit them in the knee...

Let's just keep talking music!!!

@ finn p- dont even bother talkin sense to this chavinistic nationalist kid... hes probz some self-loathing sexually confused child with no friends and needs a place to vent... your points make sooo much sense, look i adore the netherlands, after spending time there last year in utrecht you really can see why the dutch are awesome open minded people, also when my aunt and uncle were getting bombed to death sarajevo the netherlands opened their doors and hearts to them without question and they now have a life that they would never have had if they stayed in the balkans...

TK you can drop....really and don't u tell me to change site!!! I love esc and i am tolerant to people who are tolerant with me!!! And u are not one of them!!!!

And... Finn P you are really miserable!!!! Ask some shrink for help!!!
And about rest of the world....enemies.... i think not!!! Those countries who supported us in alert situations are our real friends like Russia,Greece,Romania.... and not u!!!!

@ DK:

Yeah, every day I wake up and think, 'oh, dammit, I got born in a rich, tolerant, peace-loving society with a sensible approach to just about anything'...

Yes I agree with gay marriages. I am not gay myself, but I think every country that denies gay people the right to marry is just as bad as a country that discriminates black people or gypsies - denying people a basic right because of things they cant do anything about.

And yes, I also believe in legalizing prostitution and drugs (only softdrugs, mind you!), because it is well known that its the only effective way of fighting them is regulation.
Interestingly, the rate of drug abuse in Holland is one of the lowest in Europe, and thats because rather than forbidding some drugs, we help people to get rid of the addiction.
Or were you trying to say that Serbia does not have any prostitution or dug abuse?!

Thats the difference between our countries. We see the rest of the world as our friends, you see them as your enemies.

@dk : yes whilst im not gay myself im am liberalist in thought and i believe in an egalitarian society therefore homosexuals deserve equal rights.. doesnt the bible say we are created in god's image?? hence if god made them (yes gay people are born that way- its a scientific fact) than it is not an abomination..
the legalisation of drugs and prostitution is questionable yes, but if u look beneath the service it makes sense as it will just happen regardless, at least this way it is conducted safely..
dude ur a messed up, intolerant, homophobic conservative waste of space, leave esc today and find somwhere that will tolerate ur hate messages...
p.s are u sure ur not gay urself?? a big give away for closet homosexuals is fervent homophobia...

every post that has serbia in it is the same! Same people, sme coments, same replies...just like you say the voting in esc is!

The song is good, and it deserves a good placing, good effort from us once again...at least we have showed we have quality music to show to the world, something esc lacks theese years

Why don't moderators react on this obvious political and nationalistic crusade of some posters here ???
We really don't care what "real" or "unreal" Serbs feel, think, want about Kosovo or whatever!

Anyway, I want to say that the choice for promo-tour is more than great! Spain, Denmark, Portugal, Finland - these are all the countries that don't use to vote for Serbia as well as other European countries in which Serbia got diaspora, neighborly or political support.

Yes I think that everybody who is real serbian will belive in that.Kosovo is in our heart and always will be...no metter if those stupid albanians took it from us.KOSOVO JE SRBIJA,FOREVER!!!!

@ DK:
I think your reaction says more about you than I can ever say.
Music aint nothing to do with politics, sport has nothing to do with politics. Plus Ive never even heard of this swimmer guy, but if he mixed politics with sport as well, maybe it was for the best.

''You live in a country that is Hell''...
Funny, I always thought of it as rather wet and windy :P

Shame on every person who still judge Serbia!!!!!! Finn P you are from Netherlands??? Shame on your country to disqualify Milorad Cavic who won the 50 m butterfly and set European Record!!!! He was wearing shirt "Kosovo Is Serbia" ...so what??? And u are saying something ...you are living in country that is hell!!!! Prostitution,Narcotics and homosexual marriages are allowed!!!! THAT IS REAL SHAME AND NOT WHAT HE WAS WEARING!!!! KOSOVO IS SERBIA AND IT WILL NEVER BE OTHER THAN THAT...!!!!

people, calm down please. pay attention to the polls, in their opinion Serbia is the WINNER. And let's be honest, Serbian songs are art values comparing to the trash coming from other parts of the Europe.

Bojan Z [32744]

Well, you all sound like Serbia will decide who is going to win? Why do you bother how Serbia will vote.People will vote for whatever song/country they preffer.

If only Serbia is going to be blamed for your country not winning, then you don't deserve to win.

Serbia will get either 10 or 12 points from:

Bosnia and Herzegovina
Croatia
FYR Macedonia
Sweeden
Montenegro
Slovenia
Russia ( or above 7)

Also, Turkey will give Serbia high points too...

And, it is true that Serbia has high chances of winning thi eurovision again. The song is very good, even though it is a ballad.Someone said we don't know how to make a pop song - such a retard! We like ballads showing that Serbs are emotional people and we like good lyrics as well as nice sound. Some people just care about beat pumping in the background...typical for cold blooded people. Well, I also wanted a fast song from Serbia this year but it didn't happen. Listen to number 2 song from Beovizija "Jablan" if you want something faster...

shame on you .you are boring,we are in top 3

@Euro Song4ever

Please, don't generalize things, why r u saying 'shame on you Serbia'?
I just don't get it.
The country (Serbia) has nothing to do with Marija's support for radicals, or Jelena's choice for the languages.
She will also have an English version, but I guess u see what u wanna see, and everything Serbia does..connect with politics.
So, according to u...Serbia should be ashamed of..what? Don't get it. At least we work hard for every ESC and send some good quality song (maybe it's not original and it's a ballad AGAIN, but it's not so bad).
I already said...choosing those 4 languages is totally up to Jelena. She can sing in Chinese if she want.
Pls, show tolerance.
Good luck all.

Night Elf [43921]

It's obvious she will translate song in Russian and Greek... they are near friends and orthodox brothers to Serbia, and I believe Jelena can expect pts from them more than from Belgium, Turkey, Denmark...even if she translate song on this language....

Russian is very similar to Serbian and a lot ppl from East understand it

They question is why on Spanish, maybe she has a good reason, maybe she knows Spanish, but I don't think it would be hard to sing this song on Italian too!!!
Anyway good luck Jelena...I know this is going in top 5!
